The Mekong Delta, as a region, lies immediately to the west of Ho Chi Minh City (also called Sai Gon by locals), roughly forming a triangle stretching from My Tho in the east to Chau Doc and Ha Tien in the northwest, down to Ca Mau and the East Sea at the Southernmost tip of Viet Nam, and including the island of Phu Quoc.
The Mekong Delta region of Viet Nam displays a variety of physical landscapes, but is dominated by flat flood plains in the south with a few hills in the north and west. This diversity of terrain was largely the product of tectonic uplift and folding brought about by the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates about 50 million years ago. The soil of the lower Delta consists mainly of sediment from the Mekong and tributaries, deposited over thousands of years as the river changed its course due to the flatness of the lowlying terrain.
The Mekong Delta is the region with the smallest forest area in Viet Nam. 300,000 ha or 7,7% of the total area are forested as of 2011. The only provinces with large forests Ca Mau Province and Kien Giang Province, together accounting for two thirds of the region's forest area, while forest cover less than 5% of the area of all of the other eight provinces and cities.

Biking itinerary:
Day 1:Sai gon City- Ben tre Province: (L,D) cycling 40km -60km:
Pick you up at 8:00 AM from your hotel and transfer to gate way of Mekong Delta( Bentre province) Cycling on narrow concrete paths through in tropical fruit garden, bonsai and nursery garden with thousands of young trees. Keep biking to see the real life of local people with their hospitality on the ways. We stay at a Homestay for overnight and join to cook with the homestay owner.

Day 2: Ben Tre Province- Tra Vinh Province: (B,L,D) Cycling 60km+
After having breakfast at homestay, we take a morning bike ride in the village to see morning local activities such as markets, children’s schools…keep biking to home town of coconuts with thousands of coconuts in villages.( Today we have got many picture stops). We stop for catching a local ferry to cross one of the two branches of Mekong river and stay in home town of Khmer people.

Day3:Tra vinh Province- Can tho City:(B,L,D)cycling 85km+
Leaving from the hotel for a short ride 4km to Ba om lake(one of local tourist places in particular in Mekong Delta)and Khmer pagoda. The oldest one in that region. Today we cycle in remote area to see one of two big bamboo baskets of rice in Viet nam. Stop for lunch and take the last 28km ride. Stay at hotel in one of the biggest city in Mekong Delta, Can Tho city

Day4:Can tho City- Long xuyen City: (B,L,D) cycling 90
After breakfast at hotel we take a boat to Cai rang floating market where locals change their products with fruits are hung on bamboo poles in front of the boats for advertising! Taking a bike ride deeper in the countryside along small canals. On the cycle routes we can see “monkey bridge”, frog farm,…Stop at stork garden to watch many storks flying back home for feeding their children. Overnight in local town.

Day5:Long xuyen City-  Saigon City:(B,L,D) cycling 35km
Driving from hotel for a short distance to a ferry crossing the lower Mekong river. Cycling through villages to see how to grow flowers. The home town of different kind of flowers, where they supply flowers for every markets in southern region. Transfer back to Saigon.

Highlights:
- Biking on concrete paths, dirt paths and single tracks along canals 
- Stop in villages to talk to locals and experience their daily activities, you have a chance to count " how many time do children say" Hello" and do hi -five to you!
-Taking a bike ride to Cai Be floating market in Cai Be town and Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho City to watch how locals do bussiness on the river
